New and current users all need to login to start using Nodana. There is no register flow. The current supported login methods are Nostr, Lightning and GitHub. To create an app you will need to top up your balance using a Lightning wallet or WebLN provider (such as Alby's browser extension).
We do our best to ensure that our service is secure. We don't store any passwords or credit card details. All apps run in their own sandboxed environment and are accessed over https only. Only apps within the same project can communicate with each other meaning your apps are protected against another user's apps. Projects also support private internal networking for secure data transmission between apps.
The focus from the start has been to allow people to use Nodana without providing any personal details. If you login with GitHub only your public data is asked for. Logging in with Nostr or Lightning is completeley anonymous. Payments are also anonymous as they're conducted over the Lightning network.
Projects are a way for you to group related apps and provide a way for them to communicate securely. We also apply billing to projects rather than specific apps.
All apps come with their own url which is shown immediately after you deploy and also available from the project page that you app lives within.
When Nodana officially supports a newer version for your app then you will see an update button. You can choose to update at any time and is a simple one-click process.
We operate per-minute billing meaning you only pay for what you use. You will need to have a balance above $0.50 to deploy apps. All charges are rounded to the nearest cent and there is a minimum charge of $0.01. Charges will be automatically applied at the end of each day (UTC) or when you decide to delete your app. Please note that stopped apps still incur charges.
Once your balance runs below zero all of your apps will be stopped automatically at the end of that day (UTC). You will need to increase your balance in order to start them up again. Any apps that remain unused for 48 hours after being stopped automatically will be deleted. We do support NWC so you don't need to worry about keeping your balance topped up. You can also receive email notifications when you balance is low.
If you refer a user to Nodana (using your referral code) then we will pay 25% of their first payment to your Lightning Address. This payment will be made as soon as payment is received from the user you referred. Referral links can be pointed at any page, not just the homepage. Just ensure you add the query string in the correct format.
Whilst the Nodana website and api are stable, some features and apps that we offer are still in beta. We will make this clear where possible.
