FAQ

How do I get started?

You will need to login to Nodana to be able to deploy services. You can do this using your GitHub account or using a Lightning wallet that supports lnauth such as Phoenix or Breez.

Do I need to provide personal details to use Nodana?

The focus from the start has been to allow people to use Nodana without providing any personal details. If you login with GitHub we only ask for public data and Lightning login is completeley anonymous. Payments are also anonymous as they're conducted over the Lightning network. We don't want your email address, credit card details or shoe size.

How do I connect to my service?

All services come with their own dedicated url which you can use to connect to your service.

How do I update my service to the latest version?

When Nodana officially supports a version that is later than the one your service is running then you will see an Update button for your deployment on the Deployments page. You can also redeploy at any time which allows you to provide new config values for your service but keep the same url and volume.

How and when do I get charged?

All charges are rounded to the nearest cent and there is a minimum charge of 1 cent when a charge is applied. Charges will be automatically applied at the end of each day (UTC). If you choose to delete your service manually then there will be a charge at that point instead. Please note that charges still apply for stopped services so you must delete your service to prevent further charges.

What happens if I forget to top up my balance?

Once your balance runs below zero all of your services will be stopped automatically at the end of that day (UTC). You will need to increase your balance in order to start them up again. Any services that remain unused for 24 hours after being stopped automaically will be deleted.

How does the referrer program work

If you refer a user to Nodana (using your referral code) then we will pay 25% of their first payment to your Lightning Address. This payment will be made as soon as payment is received from the user you referred. Referral links can be pointed at any page, not just the homepage. Just ensure you add the query string in the correct format.

Are you in Beta testing?

Yes, we are in beta testing at the moment and will be for a while. This means that at times things might go wrong but hopefuly not too often. Keep this in mind when running software on Nodana.
