Solution brief · BOLT12 payments

A reusable payment address on your domain

A BOLT12 offer is a reusable Lightning payment request. Link your node's offer to an address such as [email protected].

With LNURL-pay, a wallet contacts an HTTPS service to get a new BOLT11 invoice for each payment. A BOLT12 offer lets a compatible wallet request an invoice through Lightning instead. Publish the offer with BIP 353 so DNS, rather than an LNURL web endpoint, resolves the address on your domain.

A practical approach

Your node's offer is ready in the Nodana app. Choose an address on a domain you control, then publish the offer in DNS for compatible wallets to discover. Your Phoenixd node handles the payments.

Copy your offer. Find the BOLT12 Offer on your node's details page in the Nodana app.

Publish a DNS record. Add the offer to a BIP 353 TXT record for the name you want to use, with DNSSEC enabled for your domain.

Test your address. Resolve the address with a BIP 353-compatible wallet and make a small test payment.

Once the record is live, share the address or the offer itself. Keep your node running and update the record if its offer changes.
