Introduction

Self-hosting a gateway just got easier. With the new Gateway UI it's now simple to manage your Gateway's Lightning channels, on-chain wallet, and ecash wallet across federations. It's now time to start running a Gateway.

Lightning gateways provide routing services into and out of Fedimint Federations. In essence, a Gateway is a specialized Fedimint client paired up with a lightning node, so it can route payments on behalf of users in the Federation. A single gateway can serve multiple Federations.
